Newbie Enchanter Quests
Description:
- These are daily quests that allow players under level 61 to enchant "non-magical" equipment with magical attributes.
- Players over level 61 can still complete the first half of the quests to collect gems. They can then use them the next time they reincarnate (and are under the level cap).
- Considering there is a ton of non-magical equipment that you'll likely be using (aka rigs/backpacks, o-yoroi armour, and shields) these quests can be very valuable since buying similar equipment can cost you millions of gold.
- This goes double for rigs/backpacks where the only other reliable source of stats for that equipment spot is through twice a year Rixx equipment events.
- The quests will take you all over Batmud and introduce you to new areas and quests. So completing these quests can be a lot of fun and can help get you out of any ruts that you've been falling in.

- A much more succinct guide than this. I highly recommend checking it out!

Quick Summary of Workflow:
- First, pick the level of difficulty you want to attempt.
- The levels are Easy, Medium, and Hard, and correspond to more powerful enchantments.
- There is a fourth "bonus" level of difficulty that requires a player of the Templar or Spider guild with the "Pray" skill/spell trained to 90%+ to help out with the crafting of the enchantment. This can be used to make even more powerful enchantments from the Hard quests.
- The next step is to earn magical gems from the shady vendor, Pietro J. DeCrystato, in the outerworld by Newberry park.
- You'll need to complete five "tasks" that vary each boot.
- You can only accept one job a day from the vendor. So if you are given a task you don't think you can complete you'll need to try again a different day.
- After that, you'll need to talk to one of two different enchanters to take the gem and "empower it" so you can use it to enchant your items. They of course have their own quests as well.
- The Drow enchanter will require that you bring them a specific corpse.
- The Valar paladin enchanter will require that you have completed a level or area quest. This can be super easy if you've done a lot of quests, or super hard if you haven't.
- You can obtain quests from both of them in the same boot (you don't have to only pick one). So I strongly recommend you first go to the Valar. If you are given a quest you haven't done before you can then accept a kill quest from the Drow instead.
- Once you "empower" a gem you can use it to enchant a piece of equipment. The types of enchantments you can choose are dependent on the type of equipment you are enchanting.
- You can also upgrade or replace existing newbie enchantments on your equipment if you change you mind later.
Outerworld Map of Locations:
- Pietro J. DeCrystato, the shady vendor, can be found in the outerworld near the Newberry Park.
- If you "ask vendor about items" Pietro will reply that he is looking for 'easy items', 'medium items', or 'hard items'.
- If you ask about a level of items (such as "ask vendor about easy items"), Pietro will assign you a quest to collect five items.
- You can only pick one quest per boot. The list changes each boot, so if you get a really tough list you can always just wait a day and ask again to get a new set of items.
- When you first start out, I *highly* recommend picking "easy items" to get a hang of how the process works.
- The items quests will fall into several different categories of tasks:
- A general item purchased from a store or a player. These usually just require money, but it can be difficult to find them in a store sometimes so you may need to go out and hunt for it yourself.
- A specific item from a particular area. For example, this may require retrieving a golden potato from the goblin farm area. The problem is that Pietro does not always tell you the area, (he just wants that golden potato), so these can require asking for advice from other players or really having a deep understanding of the game.
- Note: The items requests from Pietro don't always match the actual item name. For example, he might ask for "a shovel from the caretaker of wane's mountain", but the actual item name is "a simple long-handled shovel".
- A "Kill Required" item. These items must be obtained from a monster that you have personally killed. Being in a party that kills the creature counts as long as you were in the room when it was killed.
- Note: You can use "help armour list" to see different types of armours for different slots which can be useful when obtaining "random" items for a specific location.
- To turn in an item you simply "show {{ ITEM }} to pietro"
Easy Acquire Items Tasks:

- You can obtain this using the fishing skill

- Area Guide: [Link]
- the shield from the baby dragon in Plura's Castle
- Actually haven't explored this area yet....
- a wineskin from a drunken monk in the Church of All Gods
- As the name implies, get this by killing a drunken monk in the Church of All Gods.
- Area Guide: [Link]
- cooked rat meat
- You can get this by cooking the corpse of a rat over a player built campfire
- The rat must be caught with the "hunting" skill. Then go to a campfire and use the command 'cook rat'
- Ice wand (3/100)
- This needs to be dropped by a monster, you can't use the ones purchased from Arelium's general store.
- I'll be up front, this is a super tricky item to get.
- pork from the Peacock Farm
- As the name implies, you can get this from the Peacock Farm. Just kill some pigs and they drop pork
- Area Guide: [Link]
- (purchase item) Soda pop from the Arelium Arena
- As the name implies, you can buy this from a vendor in the Arelium Arena
- "ask lad about goodies" at the entrance to get a list of items to buy.
- You want to buy a "Batcity's Original Soda-Pop" which is 83 gold.
- (purchase item) trail mix from the hobbits of the Mirror Mine
- Haven't explored this area yet...
- scroll of enchant armour
- This can be obtained from black puddings in the Newbie Mines (NOT the Crystite Mines).
- Area Guide: [Link]
- The mines are limited to players under level 30. Luckily newbies often sell these scrolls for around 5k gold each, so you can usually find someone selling one of these.
- the empty toolbox from the Rilynt'tar Apartment Building
- Not sure where to find this, but I suspect it's in the city of Rilynt'tar
- the enchanted scimitar in the Newbie Mines
- This is a hard item to get if you are above level 30 and can't go into the newbie mines yourself
- You get this from the unarmored soldier (a 3k monster)
- Area Guide: [Link]
- the shovel from the Caretaker of Wane's Mountain
- The other name for Wane's mountain is "newbie mountain".
- The caretaker is at the very top of the mountain.
- The shovel is actually called: "a simple long-handled shovel"
- Area Guide: [Link]
- the weapon of the white pawn of the Chessboard
- A pretty easy item to get from the chessboard area
- Area Guide: [Link]

- A piece of 'random' armour for the torso
- This armour must be truly random vs. a specific torso armour that drops from a monster.
- Examples: bra, breastplate, do-maru, hara-ate, haramaki-do, muscle shirt, vest
- Good area to farm this: [Apple Orchard]
- a 'random' axe

- a 'random' bludgeon

- Examples: haidate, kilt, leg protector, leggings, pants, shorts, skirt, sune-at
- Good area to farm this: [Apple Orchard]
Purchase Items:
Note: These items need to come from a store, not randomly dropped by monsters
- a can of Hugobeer
- You can buy this from the bar in Hugoville. Gang members also drop this when you kill them. Validated both work for turning in this quest.
- If you buy the beer, know that the bartender puts it on the ground (aka bar), not your inventory.
- Area Guide: [Link]
- a fine steel Chainmail shirt
- Haven't seen this in any store yet
- a leather waterskin (half full)
- I think you can sometimes find these in the general store.
- a sandwich from the Nightclaw Tavern in the Catfolk Treetop Village
- Haven't explored this area yet...
- a sandwich from the Inn of the Four Winds

Medium Acquire Items Tasks:
Specific Items Obtained From Areas or Skills:

- These are the gauntlets you can dig up in the mayor's house in hugoville
- Area Guide: [Link]

- Area Guide: [Link]
Kill Required Items:
Note: The "random items" are much the same as the easy tasks, but they are for a specific type of weapon/armour. So rather than asking for a short blade, it'll ask for a dagger
