Ivory Tower

Image
Continent: Laenor Description: A "high level newbie/midbie" area. Good for practicing how to run a party. All the creatures here are of the "good alignment" making this a good place for evil characters to strengthen their reputation. Many of the creatures in this area poison. Catfolk Treehouse

Image
Continent:  Lucetium Description: Treetop village with a lot of locked doors, each with a unique key that changes per boot. Basically, expect to do a lot of searching to unlock all the doors. There's some "secrets" in the locked rooms, but mostly this just opens up more areas to find creatures to kill. In the "non-secret" areas, there is only on aggressive creature (a racist old catfolk) that will attack non-catfolk players on sight. This makes the area fairly safe to explore for newbies. The locked rooms do not grant explore EXP though, so feel free to skip them unless you are trying to solve the mini-quests here. The bridge guards WILL become aggressive if you start to attack townsfolk though. So be careful about that. Tons of secrets to discover and it is linked to several other areas E.g. Orc Samurai Some of the creatures will block you if you attack them and try to flee, so this is a good area to come with a party so you can ensure you kill things without n...

Plura's Castle

Image
Continent:  Laenor Description: An ancient and abandoned castle, taken over by dragons, ghosts, and (worst of all) musicians Decent place for newbies to explore and gain EXP, as long as they avoid the two big aggressive monsters. Great place for midbie EQ parties to get experience taking down bigger monsters. Quests: N one that I know of.  Equipment: An ancient Dragon's amulet +2 SPR, +Light Obtained by killing the  Piers Dragon (75k monster)   A small jeweled belt +2 SPR Obtained by killing Blur (100k monster) Open Questions: As a general point, there obviously are secret areas in this castle I haven't discovered how to access yet. I feel like I just scraped the surface of exploring this area. How do you get past the huge stone in the basement? There's also three scary ghosts (all named dread) throughout the castle that drop semi-unique items like brilliant gem. Is this related to getting past the stone in the basement? What is up with the armchair, and the "an...

Coffee Forest

Image
Continent:  Lucetium Level Limit: Max Player Level: 55 Enforcement Mechanism: 100k Blocking Monster Description: Another of the more "modern" Batmud areas with several outerworld components, much like bunny valley. A good place for mid level characters to earn experience. There are a ton of monsters to kill here. There's also a fun area quest to do. Finally, there are some equipment pieces you can collect, either for your starter set, to sell, or to use in a Rixx event. Quests: Area Quest: Coffee Time Fun quest. Lots of secrets to discover. Some of the syntax is non-intuitive. The biggest monster you need to kill is around 20k EXP. There are multiple rewards to this quest. Only one of which gives you credit for completing the quest. Equipment: A pure white loincloth +1 CHA, +1 SPR Obtained from the cherub-like homunculus (40k monster) Batwiki Entry: [ Link ] A white apron +1-2 HPR Obtained from Dr. Oso Batwiki Entry: [ Link ] Halo of Flames +5 DEX, -3 cold res, +damage on...

Ancona Manor

Image
Continent:  Furnachia Description: I absolutely love this area. It was really well coded and the quest is a ton of fun to solve. Easily in the top 10 areas of Batmud. One of the more Newbie/Midbie friendly areas in Furnachia. Feel free to explore since there aren't any aggressive monsters that I'm aware of.... Update/Warning:  If you wear any red clothing one of the monsters will turn aggressive and attack you. They are a "beefy" fella so it'll be a pretty quick death. Quests: LQ 48: Successor of Province This is a real fun level quest. No fighting and all exploring. So anyone can complete this! Spoilers can be found below, but I strongly recommend exploring this area and figuring things out yourself and only referring to this guide if you get stuck. Go to the manor to get things started... Equipment: A shimmering blue necklace with a silver plaque +4 WIS 'squeeze necklace' for water walking (one time a boot) This is the reward for completing the level que...
