Mithil Stonedown

Continent: Laenor

Quests:
  1. None that I'm aware of, though this is a pretty good exp area. Also the monsters drop money which is nice.
  2. This is also a safe place for newbies to explore for exp
Notable Equipment:
Open Questions:
  • Does the Pixie dust do anything?

Map:

Map of Mithil Stonedown

Notes:

Getting There:

  • It's quite a long hike off the main roads to get here
  • There are a bunch of areas around here based on the "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" series of books. This is the "lowbie" area of the set.

Entrance (Village and area north):

  • The villages will not initially turn aggressive if you attack another of them in the room, but they will occasionally turn aggressive based on offensive skill/spell usage
  • Yerquin and Quirrel are much tougher than the other residents on this side of the town
  • Triock is also more powerful than a lot of the residents.
    • They will cast anti-magic field which is a real pain when trying to kill them.
    • Killing Triock is part of LQ 33: Northern Raiders
  • Stefan, the Gravelingas will cast heal spells on himself
  • Gaward the hunter drops a +1 avoid cloak and is fairly easy to kill.
    • If you are looking for newbie equipment, this is a good and easy option
    • This also has a decent sacrifice value if you are in a guild where that matters
  • I feel like the back half of this path is from a completely different area and the wizards just tacked it on to make Mithil Stonedown bigger....
Pixie Mines:
  • Ok, this is a totally different area.
  • The evil pixies do seem pretty evil...
    • They really like farting...
    • Looks like pixies are good as long as they can fart. This farting helps mine the pixie dust. When they stop being able to fart they turn old and mean
  • The pixies *will* banish you if you fight them long enough.
    • If you are farming exp here you will really want a ring of lead or the heavyweight spell cast on you.
  • There was a bag of pixie dust in the queens room.
    • It may have been left over from someone else killing here
    • You can "dust room" to apply pixie dust to a room
    • When you do that, it says it "brightens up the room considerably". Not sure if it actually makes the room lighter or not though.
    • I tried dusting rooms in the evil side to see if it makes people happier but it didn't seem to do anything
    • It leaves "some pixie dust powder" in the room which you can't get rid of
