School of Lumine

Image
Continent:  Laenor Level Limit: Limited to players under level 55 Enforced by a blocking monster Description: Popular place for players level 30 - 55 to farm experience, since the phantoms are fairly easy to kill and are worth around 4k - 6k experience each. This area seems half-finished. There is a lot of potential in this layout/design but the school feels empty. Great place to earn money since you can sell the phantom hearts for 500 gold each, and most players just leave them on the ground. Quests: Area Quest: Rescue Hannah's Parents  Find Hannah in the hedge maze and bring her one of each color of hearts from the phantoms. Get the ribbon from Hannah. Find the Abbess in the 2nd floor and give her the ribbon. Then buy the robe from her Find Dr. Livingstone in Arelium or Esiris and ask him about Hannah. Go to where Hannah's parents last slept, put on the robe and "sleep" Not sure what happens next. Equipment:  The hearts that phantoms drop can be sold for 500 gold ea

Iron Mine

Continent:  Laenor Description: This is a good place for midbies (Level 30-60) to earn experience The hard part about killing monsters here is there are some very tough murder-machines (golems and named characters) wandering around which will turn aggressive if they see you in the middle of a fight. Quests: Area Quest: Rescue the Bunny Equipment: N one that I know of.  Open Questions: What happens when you kill the spider. Is the bunny behind it? What is in the key in the box by the entrance to the lookout? It locks/unlocks the gate to the lookout, but that seems a bit silly since that gate starts out unlocked. What is past the living statues in the secret passage? Map: Notes: General Disclaimer: Most creatures more or will spawn in different locations after reboot. So take placements in the map as a general guide vs. where creatures actually are. Area Quest Disclaimer:  It seems like only one person/group can complete the area quest per day. If you see a "tunnel" exit in an

Drawbridge

Image
Continent:  Laenor Description: Very popular area for lower level players Quests: Riftwalkers Task: Brave the Lance Riftwalkers Task: Ride the Rift Equipment: Manannan the Evil Wizard supposedly drops an item that lets you store hit point's in it This item only lasts one boot. So you need to use it or loose it before Armageddon resets things. This item is very helpful to avoid instant death encounters. For example the final boss Vraal the wight will kill you unless you have this item. Full disclaimer: I've never seen this item. I just had other players tell me about it. Special Explore Rooms: The Wight's Room in the caverns underneath the castle is a special explore room. Open Questions: Is there a way to get into the moat? What do you get if you kill Manannan the evil mage? What is the wooden lockpick for? What do you get if you kill Vraal, the evil wight? Map: Notes: Entrance (Drawbridge, Gatehouse): It really seems like you should be able to jump into the moat somehow...

Newbie Crystite Equipment

Image
Overview: Crystite equipment can be used by players up to level 60 (at which point it will stop working). You can earn credits to buy this equipment from the Crystite Trading Post in Dortlewall by turning in crystite fragments you find in the Dortlewall mines. Here is a guide to the Dortlewall Crystite Mines One important point though is you will stop being able to earn Crystite credits after level 40. So the equipment will last you longer, but after level 40 you will stop being able to get new equipment. The equipment can be very useful, but it's hard to tell what it will do for you until you spend your credits and buy it. Hence this guide! Note: You can view <item number> to get an overview of equipment when you are in the shop. The information below provides actual numbers for the bonus to stats, plus damage information gained from the "compare" skill to rank crystite weapons next to other Batmud weapons. I want to give credit to the  The BatMUD Information Sho

Dortlewall Crystite Mine

Image
Continent:  Laenor Description: Located in the newbie town of Dortlewall Area for newbies to grind EXP and to obtain a currency called crystite to purchase newbie equipment The equipment is *very* good, but will only work until you are level 60 Level Limit: There is a hard level limit of 40. Aka players level 41 and greater can not enter the mines Quests: Area Quest: It's a Drill You need to fix a broken drill on the second level of the mine To do this you need to find three machine parts. I'm told the machine parts can spawn differently for different players.  Aka where you get the parts will be different, as well as what parts show up where.  For example, one person searching the junk in the abandoned food store will find a Stone Pin, and another person might find a Ring with Ball Bearings.  Also one person might need to scavenge the broken drill while that drill might be empty for another person. You will briefly visit here if you are following the Batmud Story "The Rog

Riftwalker Entity Stats

Image
Overview: This is a collection of stats I've recorded for my Riftwalker entities after I completed the Riftwalker task "Brave the Lance". This post is more for me, since I love statistics and data :) General Observations and Rumor Debunking: Entities do not gain or lose stats when they are under control vs. not The Defensive Valour focus will give statistics when you train it I'm recording it below, but the stats seem to vary based on entity type and how much you train Defensive Valour. It always seems to give +1 DEX It sometimes gives some combination of +1 CON, +1 WIS, +1 INT, and +1 CHAR.... The Offensive Might focus gives +STR and +SIZE The air entity does not get much at all from this. The fire entity benefits more. The other focus areas do not appear to grant any stats (well they might give +hpr/spr, but those don't show up in the stats command) As for the other skills, I need to get my entities trained up higher to test them out. My guess is that Offensive

Riftwalker Guide

Guild Location: Continent : Rothikgen World Location: Randomly moves but can be found in the lake in north-west Rothikgen north of the Riftwalker cave. Look for the 'O' in the lake, and once on it "touch sphere" to enter the guild. Warning: There are a large number of vampire bats (they show up as 'B' on the map) that roam around the guild and will absolutely murder you when you are full of EXP and trying to get to the guild to spend it. Guild Requirements: Magical Background Disclaimer: I'm only level 12 in the guild. So there are huge gaps in my knowledge about being a Riftwalker. I'm writing this guide to document what I'm learning as I learn it. My Overview of the Guild: Riftwalkers have the ability to summon an elemental entity to tank for you. This provides some of the best Newbie solo abilities in Batmud as you can cast damaging spells while letting your rift entity take the hits. The trade-off is that Riftwalkers underperform in parties
