Wrebie Forest

Image
Continent:  Laenor Description: A decent place to earn some EXP and money The difficulty level varies widely for this area The werbies are trivial to kill The big maggot heals wicked fast, so you really need to be able to kill it the first go-around The golems really require a lowbie/midbie party to tackle Quests: No real quests that I know of Equipment: Shining Sword Retrieved from the maggot cave and cleaned of slime in the town Provides +2 hit. Not a great weapon as it doesn't do much damage but it is a decent piece of starting equipment. Sells for 8725 gold It has a sacrifice value of 130k making it a very popular item for highbies to sacrifice at shrines or use during Rixx equipment events. Items to sell Breastplate covered in slime 1500 gold Will reduce your stats if you wear it, so it is only good for selling Tiny spear 250 gold Stone weapons Worth only 50 to 150 gold Open Questions: I haven't explored the golem tower much Map: Notes: Entrance: In the second room there i

Wibble Village

Image
Continent:  Laenor Quests: None that I know of. This is purely a (low) lowbie exp area. If you are under level 30, you can get ruby slippers here which let you teleport back to your starting location. Open Questions: There may be a special explore room here , but not sure where. Curious what happens if you kill Mumbaba Map: Notes: Entrance: Note: Once you enter here, you can't leave the way you came You need to go into the wibble village and "enter balloon" to leave. Right after the entrance you can "climb well" to go down into the well At the bottom of the well there is a frog If you "kiss frog" he will give you  a golden ball Killing Bambi gives you a set of antlers. Not sure if these can be used for anything. Blort Village: They also have a well you can climb down At the bottom of the well there is an ugly toad If you kiss this toad, you turn into a frog The chief Blort can turn you into a frog and is aggressive I really don't recommend messing

Zoy's Inn

Image
Continent:   Laenor Quests: LQ 24: Zoy's Inn Need to retrieve an old paperweight, a silver disc, and a saucer Requires a rope. While the quest text recommends buying one from the Arelium Tinker store, there is one you can find on the pirate ship. Map: Notes: Entrance (Inn, River Bank, and Pirate Ship): I'm going to wander a bit since I did the level quest around 15 years ago. So this isn't a quest focused write-up. In Zoy's Inn, if you ask the captain about the quest he says that he's looking for his three possessions that were stolen by bandits, but that the bandits were found killed by a bear and did not have the items on them. Another cool trick, you can 'pay' inkeeper 100 gold for a room You can then unlock the doors and go into them You can also "sleep" in the room to quickly regen if you don't want to wait on your other regen skills. Basically this gives you a bonus "camping" slot Just north of the Inn, you can "swim river&

Smurville

Image
Continent : Rothikgen Quests:   None that I'm aware of. Just a low level experience grinding area Most mobs drop equipment, so you can probably make some money hauling and selling everything at Shadowkeep Map: Notes: Based on the descriptions, this area seems based off the Smurf comics and not the TV shows. When entering Smurville, there is a small pile of gold coins (around 60 coins) in the shadowgate. This respawns fairly regularly. If you start to perform an offensive skill/spell then Bigmouth will agro. Smurfette will also agro on offensive actions If you want to kill Papa smurf, just know he DOES NOT agro if you kill the other two smurfs that are in the same room as him. Kill Tracker: Blue Smurf with white pants Around 2500 exp Bear Around 6500 exp Smurf sitting on a mushroom Around 2200 exp Angry Smurf Around 2200 exp Dreamer Smurf Around 2700 exp Black Smurf Between 3800 and 6000 exp A HUGE BLACK smurf 6305 exp Gargamel 8174 exp Bigmouth 4731 exp Azriel 5903 exp Smurf wearin

Newbie Forest

Image
Continent : Laenore Quests:   Get cubeman his pet (Reward: Rainbow sword) Really just an experience area Prime place for player killing (Freezer) Map: Notes: In the upper NW corner of the map, you can "move rocks" to open up a passage to the troll's room In the upper NE corner of the map, past the swamp there is a cube. You can "touch cube" to enter it. The cubic man inside is saying they miss their pet. But he will not answer any of your questions or interact with you. If you kill the turtle it drops a tiny turtleshell If you give the turtleshell to the cubic man, he rewards you with a rainbow sword!!! If you kill a guard to the gatehouse, they drop the "key to the castle" In the kitchen, you can "search pile" to find the key to the freezer The cook is asking for salt, but I don't know if there is anything to do for that In the freezer you can kill an ice cube Note: This freezer used to be a very popular player killing area back in the d

Circus

Image
Continent:   Laenor Quests: AQ: Circus Special Explore Room: There is a special explore room on top of the big tent. You can get there by shooting yourself out of the cannon Open Questions: Where do you get the key to the chest that has the magical orb in it? Currently I just attack the chest until it breaks. What is the text when you complete the area quest? I haven't actually killed the lion yet. Map: Notes: First goal: Get two pins Entrance (Going West): It costs money to get past the ticket seller. I'm not sure how much, and it may increase with your levels. Asking a woman about the circus she mentions there is a lion on the loose At the fortune teller, Monica is missing her crystal ball, which somebody stole. If you 'ask monica about tip' she gives a lot of good newbie tips though At the beggar, I put 15 silver in his hat, and then he would answer questions He confirms that a lion is on the loose If you ask him about children, he mentions them disappearing in the b

Castle Bigeaul

Image
Continent: Laenor Quests: Help the Baron (LQ 35) Map: Notes: Entrance: The first thing I notice is there are guards keeping me out of the castle, and guards keeping me out of the religious compound. Going to do some exploring first before I attempt to force my way through. The guards at the religious compound are praising Beldarus the builder. To the west, there is a stable. In the stable there is a broken cart for the church, and an abandoned ladder, though I couldn't interact with either one of them Far to the west side, there is a door that requires a key to unlock. Going around the garden of the castle I encountered a nervous man with a crowbar trying to open the back door. The description implies he is a burglar. If you kill him, he drops a crowbar If you wield the crowbar, you supposedly can use it to force the door to gain access to the castle I may not be strong enough for this. Aka I just scrape the lock. It's not opening for me. Someone luckily already opened up the

Chessboard

Image
Continent:  Laenor Level Limit: Some of the rooms in the caverns are blocked to players over level 30 Enforced by a "mysterious force" The rooms aren't even that interesting, so not sure why there is a level limit there. Description: Popular place to kill monsters The pawns are easy for newbies The higher level chess pieces are popular for mid-level characters, and often make good hosts/zombies for players in the Nergal guild The pawns are the closest thing you can find in Batmud to training dummies. You can use them to gauge how much damage you are doing and try out new skills/spells on them. Quests: N one that I know of.  Equipment: The chess pieces all drop equipment you can sell, but none of the equipment is worth keeping Open Questions: I've heard that the rooms behind the "murder rooms" in the chessboard are special explore rooms. I haven't been able to verify that though. Not really sure what the kings drop or what is past the "murder rooms&q

The Village of Stouby

Image
Continent:  Laenor Level Limit: Limited to players under level 50 Enforced by a blocking monster Description: This is one of my favorite areas. You'll likely only come here to do the level quest. But the level quest is very well written There's almost always multiple ways to solve a problem. This area really rewards searching around and thinking outside the box. There are a number of monsters to kill if you are higher level than the LQ limit. You can kill some of the creatures as a level 32 player but it may be hard. Quests: LQ 32: Wicked Witch You can totally solo this quest. There are tough monsters, but there are ways to avoid having to fight them. Equipment: Starmetal weapon Can be enhanced as a reward for the levelquest Sells for good money and is an "okay(ish)" weapon. It's fun to explore and learn how to create this weapon, but the gauntlets are a better reward A pair of carnelian gauntlests One potential reward for completing the levelquest Provides either

Shadowkeep Prison

Image
Continent: Rothikgen Overview: Decent experience dungeon for midbies Easy to get to if you are in Shadowkeep Lots of Batmud history in this dungeon Quests: ?? ?: Kill stuff, get exp Equipment and Items: PervertSword Dropped by the Weirdo It's a pool longsword, but better than nothing Sells for around 3k gold which is nice Toilet Candy Regen food Obtainable from the toilet (see below) Stethoscope You can use this to figure out your heatbeat which can be useful for leading parties Here is more info (note: it now works over armor): link To use "apply stethoscope to <name> To stop using it: "unapply stethoscope". Note this didn't seem to work for me but it works for others. Open Questions: Never been able to get in to see the warden What is the watchdog guarding? What does Franz's butt do? (besides the obvious) What does the gizmo do? Map: Notes: Starting Out (First Floor): There are a lot of wandering creatures here The dwarf guards are very annoying sinc
