Perrin's

Continent: Furnachia

Description:
  • There are a number of area quests for higher level players along with the level quest for level 28
  • This is the LQ that breaks newbies. It's really tough, and it helps to have a  party that knows what they are doing.
Quests:

  • LQ28: Robes of Time
    • You need to collect 3 robes
    • You will need a lead ring or the heavy weight spell to prevent getting banished
    • You will also likely need a party to complete this.
  • Area Quest: Shrouds of Darkness
Equipment:
  • None that I know of.
Open Questions:
  • This is a real "Get in, get the LQ done, get out" guide at this point. There is a ton of content for higher level parties, but that will have to wait until I'm higher level to participate in them :)
  • Therefore there is a lot of content not covered in this area guide.
  • Also, I'm still working on LQ 28 so things like the map of the castle are woefully incomplete.
Map:
Map of Perrin's
Notes:

Maze (Plains of Perrin's):
  • Going north from the arch is a maze that is very tricky
  • When in doubt, you can "reset" the maze by going west three time (3 w)
  • Here are the following directions for areas specified by Dryad's website:
    • Arch (Entrance to Perrin's): 4 nw;n;ne;n;ne;n
    • North Base of Citadel (Psionic and Feral Man): 4 nw;n;ne;n;ne;sw
      • Place to get key to the castle entrance
    • Plains End: 4 nw;n;ne;n;se
      • There doesn't seem to be anything to do in this area
    • Castle Entrance: 4 nw;n;ne;n;2 ne;n
      • Go here to get one of the robes of time.
    • Trapdoor: 3 w,4 nw,n,ne,n,se
      • Unrelated to the LQ. There is a big monster at the bottom of it
North Base of Citadel:
  • There is a psionic man and a feral man here.
    • They are pretty obviously modeled after Professor X and Wolverine of the X-Men
    • Wolverine says they have a key to the citadel.
    • Professor X is the one who actually has the key
    • You can attack Professor X and Wolverine does not turn aggressive
      • Kill them to get the key
Mole Cave:
  • From the archway, go east, then up
  • A mole guard will block your progress into the cave. Kill them.
  • This is actually a pretty good place for Lowbie's to kill monsters and get explore experience
  • In the eastern passage there is a room titled "dead end". If you "search artwork" you will discover a passage to the east. Long story short, if you don't see an exit, "look at artwork"
  • Keep going along this passage and you will come to the white temple
    • Kill the priest there. They drop the Robes of Tomorrow's Dawn for the LQ
  • The rest of the cave is good for explore EXP and killing monsters. In the south it intersects with the drider caverns below it.
    • There are some tougher aggressive driders wandering to the south FYI.
Drider's Cave:
  • You can either enter this from the cliff entrance, or come down from the Mole cave
    • Both approaches end up in the same entrance to the Driver Cave
  • If you have invisability, I'd highly recommend it for this section.
    • There are a lot of wandering tough aggressive monsters. You can quickly find yourself in a bad spot when exploring these caves
    • If you don't have invisability, take things slow
  • Note, if you search the lichen in any of the rooms but the special lichen room you will become poisoned.
    • It seems to be the fast spell point draining poison vs. the long term kill you without a sauna type.
  • Take the East/NE/N path until it turns SW
    • In this room "search lichen" to reveal a secret path
    • Just a warning, once you reveal this room Dryders will start wandering into it. So if you are taking your time with the Lichen Monster some "friends" might join you.
      • What's even worse, the Lichen Monster seems to block the driders from leaving, so after a bit "ALL" the driders will be in that room.
      • If someone else opened this path, you might want to put off doing this quest this boot.
  • At the end of the path is a Lichen Monster that has one of the robes for the quest
    • Kill the monster to get the Robe of
    • Warning: This monster blocks the way out so you have to kill them in one go
    • Warning: Ok, there is a way out. This monster banishes so if you don't have a lead ring or heavyweight cast on you, it can get annoyed and teleport you out of the room and to a random location in the outerworld.
    • If you can have a party member cast Dimension Door to provide an escape if you need it, that is super nice

  1. You have seen drider, that means you are close to spider queen's followers, drows.
