King Eowyn's Land

Continent: Rothikgen

Quests:

  • Save the princess daisy (LQ 37)

Map:

Map of King Eowyn's Land

Notes:

    Entrance (Forest):

    • At the entrance there is a sign warning that animals in the forest are enchanted so may be harder to kill than you would normally expect
    • It seems like aggressive monsters move so it is hard to map and avoid them.
      • I would recommend resting in the outerworld or in "safe" rooms
    • Animals may agro if you use offensive actions
      • This can cause one aggressive ant to cause you all sorts of problems!
    • A wild boar actually chased me to the outerworld when I ran away!!!
      • This is useful if you get attacked by a boar in a room with a lot of other animals you don't want to agro with your skills. Run away to an empty room and then kill it when it follows you.
    • In the NW corner of the forest, you can "climb wall" to enter another area
      • Caution, there is a goat that agros on you when you climb the wall.
      • This leads to a field area where there are deer and a king's warden
      • Note, there is one room where you can go into, but can't go back the way you came and have to circle back around.
      • You can "climb wall" from the hayfield entrance location to go back to the forest.
    • To the south of the entrance is very hard to map because it doesn't have a normal grid layout. So paths overlap in weird ways.
    • To the South East of the map there is a pond. In the farthest SE corner of it you can "dive" to find a key with King Eowyn's crest on it.
    • South of the entrance, there is an oak tree. You can "climb oak" to enter Cherlindia the Witch's hut
      • She says if you can find her wand she will give you a silver key.
      • She says she must have left her wand in her study under the castle
    Castle (and well):
    • There is an aggressive blocking dragon guarding the entrance to the castle
      • After a couple of rounds it will cast lava blast, which hits very hard
      • The moats to either side of the dragon offer a safe place to regen as long as you don't continue deeper into the moats. The only downside is you are swimming so no camping/lounging there.
    • Rhohan the mighty dragonslayer is walking around here asking for beer and making fun of people.
      • If he wouldn't just destroy me, I might do something about it....
    • In the castle, you can find King Eoywen in the throneroom
      • If you ask him about dragon, he asks for the head of the black dragon.
      • If you ask him about the princess, he says that dragons captured her.
    • In the middle of the courtyard is a well. You can "jump" to go into it
      • The door in the well can be opened with the key you found by diving in the pond
      • You can "climb" to go back. Which is nice if you forgot to get the key.
    • There's a lot of aggro monsters down here, but they don't seem to chase you.
      • I did later find out they wander though, so be careful!
    • There are two Eevil (sp?) spirits that block you from fleeing back the way you came, which is really annoying.
      • More annoying, they turned me into a frog!!!!
      • Looks like they wander so the direction they block is random.
    • In the "Magical catacomb" there is a rotten guard. But it is a no-skill/spell room and I couldn't interact with it.
      • The guard just kind of stands there
      • An aggressive ghoul wandered in here, which was not a good day as I had to quickly move since I couldn't fight it here.
    • In this room "push wall" to open up another exit nw.
      • This *really* annoys me as there was no description in the room that you could interact with the wall until you "look at wall".
      • The only way I figured this out was thanks to this map.
      • When you push the wall, you automatically teleport to the workroom
    • If you just "search" in the workroom (it doesn't matter what) you will find the wand.
    Back to Forest:
    • If you go back to the witch in the treehouse, if you give her her wand, she will give you the key and then disappear
    • You are now ready to save Princess Daisy!

    South-West (SW Forest, Swamp):
    • Be careful going into the SW forest side-path as there is a rabid bear there that hits like a truck and will chase you into the outerworld
    • In the swamp, the venomous snakes don't seem to poison you (fingers crossed)
      • Well it "poisons" you but not the type that does damage
    • In all fairness to the level designer, the text in the room before the Hydra's lair warned you about it.
      • The Hydra makes the grizzly look like a bunny. It hits like crazy and will chase you.
      • If you wander here without a party, you are likely going to die.
      • I didn't really poke around this room (I was busy with all the dying going on)
    • Enter crack to go into the dragon's lair
    Dragon's Lair:
    • There are bloodthirsty aggressive bats in this lair, but they don't seem to chase you or move.
    • Managed to join up with a party so my notes of what dragon is where is much more sketchy, but there are a lot of aggressive dragons around here, specifically in the inner circle area
    • The HUGE black dragon is super hard and took my party a couple of attack/retreat/regen cycles to kill it.
      • It drops a head though which I think you can turn in for a reward
      • (Confirmed) You can only get credit for the LQ if you both save Princess Daisy, and turn in the head at the same time
      • Fun Fact: The head saves over reboots, so if Princess Daisy dies, you don't have to kill the dragon a second time.
    • There is a locked cell in here which can only be opened if you get the key from the witch.
      • Inside is princess Daisy
    The Rescue:
    • You are going to need friends to complete this. I can't imagine soloing it as a level 36 player, regardless of how good your equipment is.
    • The goal is to rescue Princess Daisy from her cell and lead her back to the throne room and the king.
    • This is extra challenging though because:
      • Any monster in the room (regardless of if it is aggressive or not) will attack Princess Daisy
      • Also once you start rescuing her she will steadily lose hitpoints as she bleeds out.
      • If she dies, I'm not sure how long until she respawns, but it is a "while"
    • To start the rescue, be in the room with her and type "follow"
      • There were some issues where she said she was following but didn't. So make sure you see her follow you when you leave.
    • I would highly recommend having one or more friends lead the way and go into the next room first and kill all the monsters without you.
      • Then have them tell you "clear" once the room is safe and then you can follow them.
    • If all goes well, you'll bring Princess Daisy back to her father. After that, give the black dragon head to the king.
      • King Eowyn says 'Magnificent you have slain the beast.'
      • Congratulations! You have just completed Save the princess daisy!
      • You receive 6424 gold as a reward for completing the quest.
      • King Eowyn says 'Black Dragon has been killed and my daughter rescued.'
      • King Eowyn leaves.
