Troglodyte Village (and Hut)
Continent: Lucetium
Description:
- Home of a pretty easy area quest
- Would be a good place for newbies to earn EXP if it was easier to get to...
- These areas do NOT show up as question marks (?) in the outworld.
- I recommend using the realm map in the official Batmud client to find them
- Area Quest: The lost troglodyte rod
- A pretty easy area quest for a mid level player (or a group of low level players)
- This quest has two parts:
- You need to return the rod of the ancestors to the altar
- You need to kill all of the renegade Troglodytes.
Equipment:
- None that I know of.
Open Questions:
- None. This seems like a pretty straightforward area.

Notes:
Troglodyte Village Entrance:
- Note: The entrance is not marked as a question mark in the outerworld. So you will need to find it using the realm map in the batmud client or looking at the area map above.
Troglodyte Village (Inside):
- The village itself is pretty boring, but there are a number of wandering villagers you can kill.
- Be careful though since additional villagers can wander into the room, causing the fight to become much more difficult
- Note: Sometimes the "stench" of the troglodytes will cause you to flee the room when fighting them.
- There is also a wandering elder who will respond to some questions
- If you ask them about the rod they say someone took it and they want it back (paraphrasing).
- At the back of the big hut you can "move veil" to enter the altar room
- The altar room is where you need to return the lost staff
- If you leave the village and go to the river, you can "swim river" to get transported to the clearing in the swamp where the Crocodile Hunter is
- Also at the river you can try to "Jump river" to get to the other side. This will take you to the troublemaker troglodytes.
- If you fail a random check to successfully jump across the river, you will instead be swept to the hut.
- Here you will find Steve the Crocodile Hunter, and his pet crocodile Ulla Skog
- If you ask Steve about the rod he admits he stole it.
- If you attack one of them, the other will turn aggressive
- I recommend killing the crocodile first since that's an easier/quicker kill
- Steve is one of the "easier" to kill 20k monsters in Batmud. I was able to solo him as a mid-level monk.
- Steve will drop an old tarnished map once you kill him.
- If you "read map" it will point to a location in the outerworld which is nearby
- You'll need a shovel for the next part. Go to the location, "wield shovel" and then "dig". Note, use "dig" and NOT "dig ground".
- You will dig up Steve's stash, which is jammed shut.
- You'll need to "force stash" to force it open. It helps to be strong and to be wielding a shovel or a crowbar.
- Inside the stash is the ancient rod of the troglodyte ancestors
- There will also be a bunch of random items such as alcoholic drinks as well.
- Go back to the altar in the troglodyte village, and then "put rod in altar"
- Note: You still need to kill the troglodyte troublemakers to complete the area quest
- If you successfully jump across the river you will find yourself in a room with no exits
- If you "swim/jump" river you will find yourself back on the other side of the bank
- "Enter bushes" to enter the renegade troglodyte camp
- Warning: There at 6 aggressive troglodytes here.
- They aren't that hard. The one annoying thing is that for each one you have a chance of smelling them and then running away. This will also temporarily stun you. I recommend using quick spells/skills to target them.
- When you kill all the troglodytes (and assuming you already returned the rod) you will be granted the area quest.
- Congratulations! You have just completed The lost troglodyte rod!
- You receive 666 gold as a reward for completing the quest.
- You receive 2 training points.
