Orc Samurai

Continent: Furnachia

Description:

  • Large area with lots of rooms and secrets to explore
  • Seems like a great mid-level party area.
    • If you are learning how to lead a party this is a great place to do that.
  • I'd recommend bringing a couple of ropes if you want to explore some of the secrets.

Open Questions:
  • What happens if you deliver the letter from Tequila to her sister Cerveza in catfolk village?
  • What happens if you mop the floor, does it let you sacrifice something to fight the orc leader for the level quest?
    • Also, is there an easy place in this map to find a bucket and soap?
  • I still haven't explored the ninja training area inside the bamboo cage.
  • There are a couple of locked rooms I still haven't been able to explore yet.
  • What is special about the tea room?
  • where can you get soap to advance in the level quest?

Map:

Notes:

Forest:
  • As a FYI: You can leave to the outerworld in any of the rooms on the edge of the forest.
  • In the quiet forest is a NPC party made of up characters with names after  drinks
    • Names:
      • Scotch N'soda (Mage/Healer)
      • Mocha Latte (Mage/Healer)
      • Tequila Bodyshot (Tank)
    • They are in party formation, so for example, Scotch and Mocha are in the back row and can't be targeted by melee attacks
    • They can be a bit of a challenge to kill with the healing. Having a blaster that can target scotch and Mocha helps a lot.
    • One of the many items they drop when yo kill them is an iron grappling hook
      • If you have a rope you can "tie grappling hook to rope" to prepare it.
      • This lets you "scale wall" of the fort.
    • Tequila also drops a letter from her sister Cerveza in catfolk village warning about a new gang.
    • As a heads up, neither the grappling hook or the letter save over reboots.
  • Around the fortress are some patrolling crossbowmen. They will warn you to leave when they first see you, and if you stick around they will eventually turn hostile and attack you
  • There are two orc warriors guarding the gate to the fortress and will prevent you from heading inside unless you kill them.
    • If you don't want to fight them though, you can use the command "scale wall" alongside the walls to sneak into the fort as long as you have the grappling hook.
    • Also they will not stop you if you are invisible or using skills like skulking.
Samurai Fort:
  • Be careful since many of the warriors that wander around this area will occasionally turn aggressive and attack you
    •  Don't idle here!
  • Along the eastern side of the wall are a set of guard rooms.
    • The northern one is protected by an orc in a black samurai armour and the door is locked
    • The southern one is protected by two orcs in red samurai armour but you can sneak by them if you have invisibility
  • In the captain's room on the wall (south of the guard rooms) is the captain of the guard
    • He is aggressive and will see through invisibility, so be careful!
    • The captain was tougher than I could solo so I needed to leave him alone.
  • In the north and south barracks you can "search footlockers" to look through them.
    • You can do this multiple times. The results are random each time.
    • Sometimes you find a random item of clothing.
    • Other times you'll get a "Ooo, what is _this_?" message and will find a gold pendant or a set of silver bracelets.
      • There seemed to be two of them in each barracks that I could find with multiple searches.
      • They can be sold for around 1k gold each
    • Another "failure" message is you will be bit by chiggers and take around 50 damage.
  • Also in the barracks you can "pull lamp" to take one.
    • This only works if your character is "tall enough"
    • A size of 57 is not tall enough...
    • Tip: If you have the ladder from the supply shed in your inventory, you can "pull lamp" to obtain a glass oil lamp (useless)
      • Note, I can't seem to fill the lamp with the flask of oil from the shed.
    • This will also drop a thick steel chain into the room.
  • In the fortress practice area is a human trainer
    • They drop padded gloves when you kill them, which has a note in its description about being able to block and parry blows. Not sure if they actually do anything, but I found it interesting.
  • In the kitchen you can "buy gritz" from the chef for 500 silver
    • He will also give you a fortune cookie. Mine has a message of "Carpe ranam" which is Latin for "take the frog".
  • You can also "buy stew" which will give you an "interesting" stew.
  • If you kill the grossly fat orc in the kitchen he drops an incredible amount of food.
    • If a player is in the room he casts "create food" and just keeps it, so the longer you are in the room the more food he acquires.
  • At the well you can lower something into it if you have a rope
    • I didn't have a bucket to test this out with...
    • I tried some other random items but they weren't helpful.
  • At the forge area is an anvil that you can use if you have the blacksmithing skill
    • There's usually a steel nugget in it as well.
  • In front of the shed is an orc warrior in red armour that blocks access to it.
    • You can sneak by them with invisibility or skulking
    • Be warned, there is also a hidden ninja in this room that will attack you if you linger there too long.
  • In the shed are a collection of items
    • A stone
    • A tall oak ladder
    • a lenght of adamantium chain
    • a flask of oil
    • a long-handled mop
    • an iron spade
    • A large pile of coal chunks
  • An orc white samurai blocks entrance to the larger castle building (really more of a large wooden fort than a castle...)
Temple Inside the Fort:
  • Lore Info: The battle priest is praying to the Kurya.
    • This is also the person you need to challenge for the level quest...
  • In the entrance room is an altar which you might be able to "sacrifice" something on...
  • Going north to the priests room you will meet an old orc that mistakes you for someone named Charlie.
    • If you say "yes" the priest will ask you to mop the temple floors. If you say yes again the priest says you will get in trouble for fibbing.
    • The priest seems like he would answer questions, but I couldn't get him to respond to any of my asks.
  • If you go back to the main room, and try to "mop" it says you need a mop, a bucket of water, and soap.
    • The mop can be obtained from the shed
    • I suspect the bucket of water can be obtained from the well (just need to find a bucket)
    • Not sure where to find the soap...
  • In the basement, you'll run into two more orc samurai that will block you from going further east.
    • As you can tell, having some form of invisibility is really helpful in this area!
  • In the south-eastern sparring room is a wooden training dummy
    • If you attack it, it will not attack back
    • Supposedly you can ask it about the damage you are doing, but that didn't seem to work for me.
    • If you kill it, it is dead and will need to respawn.
  • In the tea room are four small china cups with tea in them.
    • You can drink the tea. It seems to be normal tea.
    • Each of the four cups has slightly different tea in it...
    • The room is a no-skills/spells room which implies there is something special about it...
  • In the red orc samurai quarters you can "search basket" to find a small wrapped parcel containing a light green fruit.
  • Warning: If you go south, there are invisible ninjas sneaking around that may attack you
    • Having "see invisible" here is very helpful!
  • In the ninja training center is a mysterious bamboo cage (really a tower filled with an obstacle course)
    • If you "look at room" you will see a room at the top with a dwarf like creature that is not moving.
    • You can enter the maze by going to the south of the training area and then going north
  • In the ninja guru's room is a ninja wrapped in red silk
    • If you try to "search dresser" the ninja will stop you.
    • If you ask the ninja anything, they ask if you want to know about specialty training.
      • I couldn't figure out how to respond to them. I tried several asks and said "yes" outload.
Bamboo Cage Maze:
  • I'm not sure if this maze changes per boot or not so take any comments about this with care.
  • There are a few rooms that if you enter, "teleport" you to a different room where the exits are different. Aka if you go "east" into a room and then go back "west" you will be in a different room you haven't seen before.
